Fancoil-chiller systems.

Chiller is a chiller designed to cool a variety of liquid coolants such as water, antifreeze etc.
The cooled pipeline is pumped into the convector heat exchangers located in the cooled rooms by means of a pumping station. Such heat exchangers are called fan coils. The pumping station may be located where the chiller is, or it may be a stand-alone unit.
chiller A special feature of the chiller is the plate heat exchanger, which exchanges heat between two refrigerants: freon circulating in the circuit of the refrigerating machine and fluid circulating in the circuit of the refrigerated rooms. The chiller can operate both in the mode of the refrigerating machine, and in the mode of the so-called heat pump, for heating. If the water circuit is partially outside the building, it is filled with non-freezing liquid (antifreeze). The use of intermediate heat exchangers in combination with the same fan coils allows the use of other sources of heat, such as boilers or central heating water, to heat the premises.

Chiller systems - fan coils certainly have their weaknesses, like other air conditioning systems. Because the presence of a multi-circuit system complicates the process of operation, because of the large number of additional elements reduces the reliability of the system chiller - fans, and if the water circuit is leaky,fan coils it may damage the interior. The cost of the fan-coil chiller system itself and its installation are quite high.
However, on the other hand, the chiller-fancoil system has its advantages: there are no restrictions on the number of fancoils to be connected (it is only necessary that the chiller has a cold capacity, a higher total capacity that all fancoil systems have); a gradual increase in the number of fancoils is possible; other heat sources can be used for heating; the fan coils can be hidden in the basement space.
The chiller can be installed both indoors (with centrifugal blower fan) and externally (externally mounted condenser), as mentioned above, can be equipped with and without pumping station.wall-type fan coils

Fan coils are the end consumer in the hydraulic circuit of the chiller-fancoil system. They can have a capacity from 2 to 20 kW, as well as air conditioners, by design, fancoils are wall-, floor-, duct-, and casset- types units.
Air flow through the fan coils is 130 - 1500 m3/h.
All fan coils consist of the following main parts:
- liquid heat exchanger with finned pipes;
- fan with multi-speed engine;
- air filter;
- two or three way valve;
- control system and automatics;
- drainage pump;
- condensate collection pan.
Depending on the power of the fan coils are 1-, 2-, 3-, or 4 in a row.
Fancoil performance control can be accomplished both by fan speed and by the amount of coolant, by means of valves operated by the controller.
Air filtration is carried out with EU2 class filters that allow for repeated use.
Duct-type fancoils also allow the mixing of fresh air. For this purpose they can be equipped with special adaptations.
With its drawbacks and advantages, like any other systems, fan-coil chiller systems have become quite widespread nowadays, especially at large commercial sites, in large office and financial institution buildings.
